Hannah was married to Elkanah for 10 years before he married his second wife Peninnah. It is obvious that one of the main reason he married Peinnah was because Hannah could not have any children. Although, Hannah wanted a son more than anything else, yet the Lord closed her womb. What is amazing about Hanna story is she stayed faithful to the Lord in spite of her unanswered prayers to have a son. Hannah was unhappy, dissatisfied, and miserable for years because she could not comprehend how to trust God’s timing.
Trusting God’s Timing
To trust God’s timing in this season there are two things you must realize and they can be found in the meaning of Hannah’s name. Hannah’s name mean GRACE. First, you must understand that you have been given grace. God gave Hannah the grace to deal with her trials, test, and storms before she was born. In Jeremiah 1:5 the Lord revealed to Jeremiah, before I formed you in the belly I KNEW YOU… God knew exactly what Hannah would face in life. He was not waiting until she prayed to prepare here to carry the prophet Samuel, He started preparing her right a way. God knew that if he would have given her the easy road, she would not have been able to carry what he had given her. What are you carrying? Whatever God has put in you please know that you have the grace to carry it.
You Have The God of All Grace On Your Side
1 Peter 5:10 declares, But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you. You have the God of all joy, pleasure, and delight on your side. You have the God of all good will, loving-kindness, and favor on your side. You have the God of merciful kindness, affection, and affection on your side. Listen my friend, the grace of God will empower you to face and overcome your trials. The grace of God will pick you up and carry you when you fall. The grace of God will make sure you possess your reward. To trust God’s timing one things is for sure you must embrace the grace of God that is on your life.
You Have Been Favored By God
The second meaning of Hannah’s name is favored. In order to trust in God’s timing you must acknowledge that you have been favored. FAVOR WILL CAUSE YOU TO EXPERIENCE MORE CLOSED DOORS THAN OPEN DOORS. God closed Hannah’s womb because of the grace and the favor He place on her life. He already knew that she would give her the desire of her heart. However, he allowed her to fight until she could not fight anymore. When Hannah surrendered to the Lord, she made a vow and the Lord granted her request. Friend, be encourage, you have the grace of God on your life and you have been favored to trust God’s timing. All things are beautiful in our Father’s timing. Galatians 6:9 declares, And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
